Horizon Services Group selects NASCENT gate control hardware for Hawaii Stevedores’ gate system upgrade in Hawaii.


Hawaii Shippers to Benefit from More Efficient and Secure Terminal


Charlotte, North Carolina –– October 23, 2007 –– Horizon Services Group (HSG), the technology division of Horizon Lines, LLC selected NASCENT Technology, LLC.’s SYNAPSE™ gate control hardware for the gate system upgrade of Hawaii Stevedores, Inc’s (HSI) terminal at the Port of Honolulu, Hawaii.  The new technology will benefit Hawaii shippers by enabling faster, more secure transit through the gate.

The SYNAPSE™ gate control hardware, which combines a host of gate control hardware and software including lane-mounted video cameras, video digitizers, Voice-over-IP (VOIP) communications, printers, bar-code scanners, and phone handsets, allows any clerk to remotely process visiting drivers at any of the entry and exit points at the terminal.

Norfolk Southern awards NASCENT Automated Gate System contract for the Rickenbacker Intermodal Terminal in Ohio

Charlotte, NC - October 18, 2007 -- NASCENT Technology, LLC (NASCENT), the leading provider of technical solutions for the transportation industry, has been awarded a contract from Norfolk Southern Corporation (NS) to provide its SYNAPSE™ Automated Gate System (AGS) for the Rickenbacker Intermodal Facility in Columbus, Ohio.

NASCENT will deploy the same SYNAPSE™ AGS system that is currently in use at the NS Whitaker Intermodal Facility in Austell, Georgia and the NS Croxton Facility in Jersey City, New Jersey. The system allows the terminals to increase the gate throughput of ISO and intermodal containers while reducing data entry error rates. Combining inspection "portals," Optical Character Recognition (OCR), digital cameras, and Voice-over-IP-enabled communication kiosks, the system facilitates communications and information gathering.

BNSF Railway selects NASCENT Technology for coveted “Intermodal Service Partner of the Year” Award


Charlotte, NC - May 28, 2007 --BNSF Railway (BNSF) presented NASCENT Technology, LLC. (NASCENT) with the company’s “Intermodal Service Partner of the Year 2007 – Best in New Technology” award at the Intermodal Association of North America conference in Oak Brook, IL earlier this month.

NASCENT Awarded Gate System Contract for the Portsmouth, Virginia Terminal

Charlotte, NC - February 7, 2007 -- NASCENT Technology, LLC (NASCENT), the leading provider of technical solutions for the transportation industry, has been awarded a contract from APM Terminals (APMT) to provide its SYNAPSE™ Gate System for the new, state-of-the-art terminal on the Elizabeth river in Portsmouth, Virginia.

The Portsmouth terminal will be the first major privately developed container terminal in the United States. Featuring 3,200 feet of berth space, the 230-acre facility will serve as a Mid-Atlantic platform for future growth.
